    Story

Help rebuild the home of a family! Help me complete my 170 mile challenge to support them!

The Cimpoeru family is a Romanian family living in a remote village in Romania. This is a very sad case! This family lost their house and all their belongings in a house fire on the 16th of October. There are 8 children in the family, and the mother is pregnant. They are all sleeping now in a shed where they used to keep their wood, which is 2.6x5 metres. Winter is not far away and in Romania you can get very heavy winters, with temperatures of -20 degrees Celsius and a lot of snow. The Romanian authorities are giving them the equivalent of £200 to help!!!! 😱shocking right?

I have already helped as much as I could, but they need about £6000 to be able to rebuild their little home (it was a very modest home).

I know that for most of my friends In England this is a cause far away from home, and I know we have enough people here who need help and support, and who are struggling. The big difference in England is that in cases like this, the authorities and social services intervene and help, but in Romania unfortunately nobody seems to care about this poor family. This is the second time I've ever opened a just giving page (first one was for cancer). I am perhaps sometimes too selfishly busy to get involved, but I saw the poor little faces of these children, and I just can’t stop thinking about them! It breaks my heart that in a European country, some poor children have to spend their winter in a shed!!!

    ABOUT THE FAMILY

These photos speak more than words.

They live in Tichindeal, a Romanian village located in the centre of Romania. On the 16th of October at 14:00 they had a house fire probably caused by the chimney. Oanea and Livia Cimpoer with their 8 children lost their home, and are now homeless. They need food, shoes, clothes, everything. They lost it all. They need building supplies to rebuild their modest home which would cost about £6000.

Livia is 7month pregnant with their 9th child .

    These are the children:

    David 14 , Sami 13 , Maria magdalena 12 , Elisabeta 11 , Moise 8 , Sara 6 , Andra Gail 3 , Mihaela 1.

    MY CHALLENGE

I am signing up to do a challenge, but I need your help to complete it! I would like to write a letter about this family's situation and deliever it to the Romanian Embassy in London, and request that they bring it to the attention of the Romanian president.

The distance from my home to the Romanian Embassy is approximately 170 miles. I am planning to cover all this distance by running, walking, cycling, swimming or rowing.

Once I covered the whole distance, I will physically book a trip to the Embassy and deliver this letter. I think Romanian authorities must get involved more to help this family.

The way you can help me is by sponsoring me to cover this distance. You can ask me which way you would like me to do it, and I commit that for every pound you give I will do something challenging!

For every 5 pounds I could:

    -run 3 miles

    -cycle 10 miles

    -swim or row one mile

    -walk 3 miles

This means that if you donate 10, 15, 20 etc I will double, triple etc my challenge (in one go) and will post proof of it from strava, apple watch etc.

This will be very challenging for me as I’ve not been running for a few months now from various reasons.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK??? ARE YOU READY TO JOIN ME IN MY CHALLENGE AND HELP THIS FAMILY REBUILD THEIR HOME?
