We are raising funds in memory of my daughter Francesca who passed away aged 27 in May 2017 following a battle with mental health.

We are currently working on setting up a registered charity called FRAN (Friends Raising Awareness Now) this focus of this charity will be to raise funds to furnish a chill room at MIND the local mental health support charity but we would also like to sponsor and furnish a quiet room at the Lister Hospital A&E department.

People with mental health issues can often have to visit the A&E department and having to sit and wait in a room full of people can cause additional stress to an already stressful situation. With this in mind we will be speaking with Lister hospital with a view to furnish a quiet room in memory of Francesca. We would like this room to be used specifically for people in attendance with mental health issues, so that they would be able to use it as a waiting room without the added anxiety of having to sit in a room full of strangers.

Please if you can support this cause, we all probably suffer or know someone who is suffering and small things like this can make all the difference during times of crisis.

We will be holding regular fund raising events to raise money for this cause, including a Family Fun Day on Francescas anniversary. The family day will include live music, food, a raffle, disney characters, a bouncy castle, a fire engine, face painting, buns and glitter and lots more entertainment for children. It will be taking place on 26th May at the Anchor Pub, Cambridge Road, Hitchin, SG4 OJH.
