My brother is 6 years old and very high on the autism spectrum.-although he may not look like it to a passer-by on the street. A sweet and delightful little soul who undergoes an everyday struggle to express his emotions to even his closest family members.
He adores spending time with myself (his sister) and our mum, especially walking in the fresh air.
Spotting a dog from across the street lights up his eyes and he instanty smiles like the Cheshire Cat himself, itching to go and stroke the dog he's just seen, but the dog makes the first move- running over to come and lick his chubby cheeks. And in that short space of time, we see Toby as happy as he might be until he sees the next dog, yet for the next few hours all he can do is replay to himself the little bundle of joy he received. It's like fireworks going off in his mind and he is having the time of his life- the happiest 6 yr old on the planet
