    Story

We recently lost a great man. Help raise a donation for Joe's family so that they can use the money how they wish to remember Joe and to help them progress with their lives. On March 9th 2018, Joe sadly passed away at home in the company of his family. Our condolences go to Roger, Helen, Sam and Tom.

Those that knew Joe will be aware he faced his challenges in life with a rare strength, along with his renowned sense of humour. Joe endured a childhood illness that established a life-time of health problems, not least a heart and valve transplant at the age of 21, brain surgery, and numerous, debilitating ailments. This meant he had to balance his medical needs, including countless appointments across the country, with his own interests and lust for life.

Joe loved to be outdoors and he developed his interest in photography at University. He was responsible for capturing some fantastic pictures and some of those images will remain hanging on walls for some time. He was a music lover and was a keen participant in local gigs and festivals. He took great joy in going to see his favourite band, Pearl Jam, on several occasions and eagerly awaited new material. He also loved his cars and would often be seen driving around the country lanes or meticulously buffing up the gleaming paintwork. Such was his approach in life, he would often talk about car issues with greater importance than his health. Joe never complained about his situation, though plenty of people will fondly remember him setting the world to rights over a beer or two in his favourite pubs.

Joe was a character that will not be forgotten. With all his achievements and challenges, Joe's family remained closely behind him providing support right through his life. Because of this sustained support, his family have often had to make sacrifices in their own lives, such as providing transport or trying to manage medications, let alone the emotional cost of their effort.

I hope to raise a donation in order to give to Joe's family so they can use it to remember Joe and move on with their lives. Many thanks.

Update - I have been informed that Joe's family would like to contribute to the Little Harbour Children's Hospice at St Austell and are very grateful for your kind donations. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make a donation. Your genourous thoughts and kindness in remembering Joe will go a long way for other children and their families who are experiencing serious childhood illness. I will send the money raised to Joe’s family in the next few days. Thanks again, love and best wishes, Liam.
