    Story

On Monday 17th October 2022 Lisa Webber was tragically killed on the M20 whilst trying to help another driver after they spun out of control on the motorway.

Lisa was a single mother to four children and grandmother to one. We are looking to raise funds in order to help and support those she has left behind.

    Lisa's story

(words written by close friend Kay)

Today 29th Oct would have been Lisa’s 42nd birthday.

But now she is not here to celebrate with her family. (I’m sure she would have something organised).

Lisa gave her life to help someone else, that’s Lisa, selfless to the end.

The news mentions the other lady tragically taken from us that day as an NHS hero, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family too.

But Lisa You are my hero!

Lisa’s lasts words to her boyfriend were, I have to stop and help, it’s a lady on her own, but let’s be honest Lisa would have stopped regardless – it was in her nature to help.

I met Lisa at football, our boys had joined the same team. She amazed me. Firstly, she had four children, and was on her own like me. However, it soon became apparent that we were not so much alike - the thing is with Lisa she was never late! she knew all the other player’s names, and well she even knew the off side rule!!

That’s Lisa you see, she didn’t do things by halves. Life matters, showing up on time, knowing people’s names and knowing the rules, Lisa cared deeply about what she did and the people around her.

Lisa leaves 4 beautiful children and 1 grandson, whom she raised single handed. Lisa was a formidable mother. I never really heard Lisa complaining, she would be the type to find a solution to a problem rather than rest on her laurels or point blame and she always took great care of her family providing them with everything they need. Her children were always her priority.

You never expect to lose a friend, and so our friendship as with many at our stage of life had taken a back seat as we ferried our children around and worked longer hours. So I was touched and privileged when Lisa joined Birchwood gym with me, and I got to spend some real quality time with Lisa over the last 6 months. The idea was to get fit and without me I’m sure Lisa would have achieved more but we did such silly things like rolling around on the gym matts laughing and chatting in the jacuzzi.

It’s during those times we reflected and shared our thoughts about life and our children, and I know how incredible proud she is of her children and what they have achieved.

She absolutely adored her grandson and was so proud of how brilliant a mum her own daughter had become. Working and raising her child at such a young age, Lisa knew how hard that is and had the upmost respect for her daughter for being so responsible.

She was so happy that her eldest son was turning in to such a fine young man. He too is working and she was so eager for him to be able to get his car and was willing him to pass his test (ha! then he could drive himself to work!) and I know she was proud of the commitment he had made to his football team which he is still very much involved in today.

She beamed with pride over her youngest daughter when she told me of her gymnastic and trampolining achievements and how she is competing in this competition and that. She was so pleased with the commitment and determination she was showing as a teenager when all her friends were out having fun.

Her youngest son too had settled and had found his ‘thing’ - Banger racing, again which Lisa completely threw herself in to making sure he could compete. She loved that he was so fearless and took him all over the country to take part.

It’s at Banger racing I’m so happy for Lisa as she found a lovely man who she spent the last year or so with. I know he would have had to work very hard to gain her attention and respect, and he definitely did that. His love for her shone through in those last months, finally Lisa had someone with a heart as big as hers and you could see it in her smile.

So this is why I say Lisa was a formidable mum – I don’t know anyone else like her who could juggle everything she did whether it be work, children, and all their separate commitments and still have space in her heart to stop and help someone else – and that’s why she is my hero.

RIP Lisa Webber, you will be missed by so many as you have touched the hearts of us all.

So now we have put this page together to ask for your support to help Lisa’s family so that we can try in some way to help her children continue in their dreams and commitments as Lisa so whole heartedly believed in
