    Story

Welcome, we are thrilled you are here. Meet Team Little Village, Big Impact. We are running in the North London Vitality Half Marathon to raise money to further the mission of the Little Village non-profit: to provide good quality baby clothes and equipment, donated by local families, to local families who need support and help.

A staggering 1 in 3 children in North London live below the poverty line. This can have serious implications for a child’s health, happiness and life chances.

Little Village operates similar to a foodbank, though instead of food, Little Village provides good quality baby clothes, toys and equipment (cots, buggies, etc) to families in need in the local area. Everything is donated by local families and given to local families who can’t afford to buy essentials.

Every family that comes to Little Village has been referred by a professional (such as a GP, health visitor or midwife) who felt they were 'in need' or 'at risk'. Little Village works closely with local councils and organisations who simply don't have the ability to provide the essentials and equipment to those in need.

Little Village is run entirely by volunteers and the money raised goes directly to buying essential items which the charities are not allowed to give out second hand such as bottle teats, mattresses for cots, moses baskets and underwear. The funds raised will also help support vital funds for van hire, DBS checks and storage costs.

Little Village makes it seamless for local families to help one another in a respectful, non-judgemental, non-patronising way - just one family helping another.

Please help us in our quest to support families in need by making a donation. Your generosity would mean so much to every one of us and the Little Village family.

    Thank you!
