Story
London Heart is a collaborative, not-for-profit initiative by volunteers from London’s diverse communities.
Our plan is to create a tribute to the victims of the London Bridge terror attack, affirming the vital importance of cultural coexistence that defines London. We will invite people from the different communities of Southwark, Tower Hamlets, the City of London and other boroughs, to come together to construct a communal mosaic monument.
The monument and the event in which it is created, will say to the world that we are living in peace in London, despite what has happened. It will show to the entire globe how deeply we have been affected, but also how we will carry on.
The monument will stand as a creative response to terrorist destruction and will represent the resilience of the people in London.
'One flower one hope’ is an additional performance, in which the audience can take part, consisting of the making of a simple origami flower with words of hope written inside, that will be placed around the base of the monument in a geometric pattern.
Eight focus lights will illuminate the finished artwork, representing the eight victims of the attack. The focus lights will be engraved with the names of the victims.
We envisage the design of London Heart as an icon symbolising "Hope and Cultural Cohesion" opposed to terrorism.
Please help us make a statement of hope and unity against violence.
When we reach our target we would be happy to see you at the event and join us in creating this monument.
Organised by World at Heart C.I.C registered non-profit organisation No.8795986.

London Heart
London Borough of Southwark, United Kingdom
On June 3rd, terrorists attacked people in the area of London Bridge, which affected our neighbourhood deeply. "London Heart" arose in Borough's local community as a creative reaction of hope. Neighbours, organisations and local councillors actively support this initiative.
