This year was the toughest year of our lives. After many years of battling with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) on 29th July our beloved mum Maureen was sadly taken from us. In the latter stages of her battle she had numerous admissions to the High Dependency Unit of Ward 23 (Respiratory Medicine) at Royal Preston Hospital. It was in this unit that mums life ended, but as a family, Joanne and myself along with our dad, experienced an amazing feeling of care, warmth and professionalism from all of the staff which helped mum pass away with the dignity she would have appreciated.

Joanne and myself were both keen runners, and have decided to don our running shoes once more and run the Central Lancashire New Years Half Marathon on 8th January 2017. We feel it only fitting to ask all who know us to sponsor us in raising some much needed and deserved funds for ward 23 at Royal Preston Hospital - to help them continue giving others the amazing care they gave our mum.
