    Story

    Greetings!

Thanks for visiting this page and allowing me to share with you what I am up to!

From September I will be working with a Christian youth organisation called Gaines . I'm very excited to start this challenge, but the first task is to seek both financial and prayer support...

Gaines itself is a beautiful manor house near Worcester, the residential hub for the Christian youth charity CampXL . Across the year the Gaines centre welcomes young people from school and church groups for activity weekends and away days, but with a clear focus on having fun at the same time as learning Christian truth. The Gaines team is passionate about clearly and faithfully explaining the gospel whilst providing a memorable week for those who attend the camps. This means that raft building, canoeing, archery and much more is in store!

The team is quite small, so it will be a really busy time looking after the young people, running activities and teaching them from the Bible - not to mention feeding them and cleaning up after them! Obviously, I'm going to get myself fully involved, and it will be a joy and privilege to serve our heavenly Father while covered in mud, drenched in water or up a tree as well as in the conversations with hundreds of young people throughout the year.

God often uses time away from home to challenge us or make us think more deeply, and ministry through youth camps is particularly close to my heart - it was on a summer camp that the Lord brought my younger brother to faith and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work in a team this way for His glory.

While I am at Gaines I will also be attending the Midlands Ministry Training Course (MMTC) in Birmingham, and I am really looking forward to growing in love and understanding of the Bible and the ability to teach it to others.

An article about the work over the past 10 years at Gaines featured in the July 2018 edition of 'Evangelicals Now' newspaper. You can also read much more about what goes on through the website gaines.org.uk

As Gaines is a charity, they are funded entirely through donations and I have been asked to raise £2800 in order to cover both my living expenses for the year and to help fund the mission. I would be so grateful and encouraged if you feel you could make a contribution to help me reach that target.

More than funds though, I would really value your prayer support over the coming year. Please pray for energy and wisdom to tackle this challenge in God's strength and that as a team we would be united in vision and desire to spread the Gospel, encouraging each other along the way. Please pray with us too, that God uses this ministry for his glory, that the message we share would be clear and seeds would be sown in the hearts of young people, especially amongst those who come along with no church background or knowledge of the gospel.

    Thank you so much!

    Lottie :)
