Hi my name is Lucy, and I’m a member of my local Explorer group who are looking at completing our Explorer belt award in Italy this summer. The Explorer belt award is an award in Scouting that gives young adults like me an opportunity to plan, budget and explore a foreign country while leaning new skills (like teamwork and communication), which I’ll be able to transfer to everyday life. As well as this, it will give me a chance to experience another culture.

To complete this award however, each participant taking part needs to fulfill several areas of the award‘s criteria before we depart, and part of this is to fundraise some money which will possibly contribute to flights, equipment, food and any other expenses which may occur when I’m out there with my group.
