Hi! My names Luke and I have been lucky enough to be one of the few Scouts selected to represent the county and the UK at the World Scout Jamboree 2019!

The opportunity is fantastic but with it comes a £3700 cost for the trip itself which I am hoping to fund through several activities before our departure date and this doesn't include training events and related activities along the way.

My cost will also contribute towards Scouts from other less fortunate countries allowing them to attend so this isn't just solely for me and already brings out the true spirit of Scouting from day one by helping others reach the event to take part as well.

My unit is Unit 33 , North Yorkshire & Durham, 24th World Scout Jamboree 2019. USA. which has about 40 members including the 4 leaders. We have already had our first meeting together and are due to meet again in January to get to know each other better.

So far I have attended two bag packing days as a joint unit event and hope to do more of these in the coming months,

In January I am starting a raffle which I have had help from friends collecting prizes and have made a bird table to add to the collection not to mention a stunt car passenger ride with Paul Swift in March at the Darlington Mowden Rugby Stadium! On 17th February we have a joint social night at Glaxo Social Club to be announced shortly!

And finally our Unit Leaders have arranged for us to do a sponsored abseil on February 24th from Middlesbrough transporter bridge! oh the joy!?

It may just have appeared to be a 3 week event in 2019 but it has soon turned into a full time challenge and appreciate any help and support you are able to give!
