My amazing 4.5 year old son Marcus was recently diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum (Autistic Spectrum Disorder - ASD). Gladly ASD does not have to be a life sentence if treated early. With the right treatment, children with this diagnosis can lead perfectly normal lives. The treatment we need for him at this early intervention stage is called Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT). We desperately need to raise money NOW, as the key to change my son’s life forever lies in treatment at this early stage of his life, not later on. Devastatingly, we find ourselves in a dire financial bind. It costs £45,000 per year to send him to school with trained specialists and to also give him the intensive training he needs to get over this problem. My son is golden, it breaks my heart to imagine that perhaps due to finance he will not get the help he needs. Like a nightmare scenario, having already exhausted every financial avenue we have, just 2 weeks ago my husband lost his job. Doubtless, taking time off to take my son to therapy, or giving him much needed treatment at home takes its toll on a 9 to 5 job. We had told no-one at work, we were not used to ask for help but now I have runout of options. Please donate.
