Weʼve raised £470 to help children and young people in very deprived areas in Nepal, who need help with education.

    Story

In Nepal many children are still deprived of education. Youth For Change is a charity that was set up by young people in the Devchuli area (where I worked a while in schools, alongside teachers). The youngsters themselves took the initiative to start an organisation that would support education for children in more remote areas, promote children and girls' sportsactivities, conduct awareness training in schools and youth groups regarding issues such as drugs, sexual diseases, sex discrimination etc.

They are in need of financial support in order to provide the necessary basic equipment for schools ( like books, pencils, schoolbags, footballs, etc.) . They are also trying to refurbish classrooms and create libraries. The list is endless.

I would like to support YFC and am trying to raise money by swimming the length of Coniston Water (8k)

Just to let everyone know that there are 2 days left before my JustGiving page expires!.... I finished my 5.25m swim on Sept 1st and have raised £480 so far. A big thank you to all who donated so far. All the money will go straight to the schools I worked with in Nepal, to set up libraries ( books, shelves, paint, etc) Dhanyabaad.
