Bags for Hope is a non-profit charity project set up by myself in association with Project Hope 4 Kids, an "on the ground" NGO providing informal education to children in the Filippiada transition camp in Greece. The project will look to supply education kits (backpacks, pencil cases, stationery and English language textbooks) to the 250 children aged 3 - 14 years in the camp. Each backpack costs £3.50 plus the cost of shipping. We are looking to raise £1,200.

A recent UNCHR report indicated that 450,000+ refugees have arrived on the island of Lesvos since the beginning of the refugee crisis with 39% of them children aged 11 years and younger. These children spend on average 9 - 12 months in transition camps with very few supplies to occupy themselves, some of whom have never experienced any education structure. We are working alongside Project Hope 4 Kids to provide these children with early learning tools so that they have the confidence to strive once they have been re-settled.

Any additional funds raised will go to purchasing additional backpacks that will be held in storage by Project Hope 4 Kids to be given to future residents of the camps.

All proceeds will go to the cause and we are looking to ship out by the beginning of the school year in September.
