Hello! Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page. My name is Tegan Kemp and I am the proud owner of Mrs K's Little Bookshop. I am an Independent Consultant for Usborne books and I LOVE what I do! I'm also a Mama of 2 little ones - Esme, who will be 2.5 years old by Christmas and Cooper who will be 11 months at Christmas.

Enough about me, more about why I'm fundraising for Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital (RACH) . I have many friends who have been to RACH with their little ones for short or long visits and the feedback has always been incredible. At the most worrying time of your life, the comfort, reassurance, care and consideration that the staff at the Hospital provide is second to none. Since I became a Mama, its made me look at things very differently especially holiday time and Christmas! The thought that a child is in hospital on Christmas Day not only breaks my heart for them but also for their family who also spend Christmas Day in hospital rather than at home as usual. I want to make every effort to remove some costs from Mum and Dad by aiming to supply at least ONE book to every child in hospital on/around Christmas and most importantly, bring a smile to their little ones faces!

Why £600 you ask? RACH has 80 beds which are often at full capacity around Christmas time. I would like to aim to have £7 per child to spend which equates to £570. But... if we manage to raise £600, it means that on top of the books that we can buy, Usborne will also give us 60% free spend on books also!!! That's another £360 to spend on books. On top of this, I will not be accepting any commission so my commission will also be spent on books as well! If we have more than one book per child then the excess books will be utilised by the Hospital to stay in their play areas or to be given out as additional gifts for patients or siblings around the Christmas/New Year period.

If you can spare any money at all, every little bit will make a difference! I cannot imagine spending Christmas Day in hospital - I assume it probably doesn't feel like Christmas at all. Lets help Mums and Dads out and give the kids something that they can enjoy from their hospital bed either themselves or with a loved one reading to them.
