Nanny Rose always supported and gave to many charities, from animals, to artists, guide dogs, wildlife and charities that supported the blind. She was the most generous person, always wanting to give to others, always offering me and my friends what she called ‘ice cream money’ and was famous for saying “anyone want a kit kat?” Which she made sure she always had in stock. When she had builders in doing some work she’d greet them with bacon sandwhiches every morning, i’m sure they were the only builders to turn up on time every day! She gave all she could her whole life and wanted nothing in return, in fact she didn’t like recieving presents unless it was something hand made by me. Even since being in an old people‘s home she would ask what she could do for me. We were told by the staff that she would even try to help the other residents in the home! She was certainly young at heart and one in a million. Which is why i wanted to do a collection in her memory for the various charities she supported.
