    Story

Welcome to our fundraising page! Wentwood Young Farmers, the villagers of Redwick, The Rose Inn, Tom Harper Photography and Oarstruck rowing team are aiming to raise £5000 for the neonatal unit of the Royal Gwent hospital in Newport, South Wales.

The neonatal unit at the Royal Gwent helps vulnerable babies and supports families.

On 26 November 100 people gathered in The Rose Inn pub in Redwick, Gwent, to record a Christmas song for charity. But it was a festive song with a difference...

The whole cast gave up their time to wear animal masks and sing the 12 Days of Christmas with voices of angels (well at least most of them) – Father Christmas even made an appearance!

Why animal masks? The lyrics of the song were altered slightly to incorporate animal sounds, which certainly gave the well-known tune a twist! It included howling dogs, honking geese, oinking pigs and neighing horses, just to name a few.

Copies of the song are not being sold. It has been recorded to bring a little festive cheer, hopefully make you laugh and perhaps encourage you to donate to help babies that need lifesaving care.

You can watch a video of the song by Tom Harper Photography below.

This fundraising initiative has been organised by Dan Maggs of Wentwood Young Farmers and Jackie Thomas (Redwick resident), with special thanks to Huw Adams (musical director), Gareth Price (keyboard), The Rose Inn, Tom Harper Photography, Oarstruck rowing team and the entire cast.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
