Omar needed urgent Transcatheter Aretrial Chemoembolization (TACE) for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) stage 7 treatment in India. Omar tested positive for HBAsg even though he was immunised in infancy. He has no history of drinking, smoking or drug abuse.

As Omar does not have the funds, I want to help him by crowdfunding. Let's all help Omar get His treatment for a better quality of life.

Omar is a talented, hardworking young tailor and older brother to two younger brothers , one of them deaf. I recently met Omar during my solo volunteering visit to The Gambia. He is a very strong and brave young man surrounded by lovely family members who nurse him at home , feed him and giving him pain relief patches to enable him to be pain free.

I sat beside Omar as he laid on a mattress in an unfurnished , small lounge that was also used as a kitchen. And for about an hour, I read through all his hospital medical records from the local health care centre to referal hospitals in Dakar. I learnt so much about his character from his loving cousin who has tirelessly visited radio stations and approached news papers to publish Omar's story so he could get the help he needs but has not had any results.

The donations will go directly to Omar and his now personal carer and older cousin, who will use them to arrange for the flights to India, pay off all the costs of the surgery as well as the Accomodation and Personal maintence whilst in India. Omar requires 2 treatment which are 3 weeks apart and will therefore e required to stay in India during the course of both treatments. All the medical paper work required for Omar and his cousin to travel to India has already been issued since October , however due to the lack of funds , Omar has just been kept laying down on a mattress at home with no hope to find such a large amount of funds. I therefore please urge you all who can share OmarJallow's story , increase awareness and need for urgent treatment for this young man. Thank you ever so much.
