Earlier this year, a group of colleagues, now close friends, volunteered to help support a local charity in continuing the good work they're doing and providing a service for disabled children and young people of East London.

I'm running Europe's Toughest Mudder (ETM) in a bid to play my part in raising some much needed funds for this excellent charity.

ETM is an 8-hour endurance race starting at midnight on Saturday 13th May. It includes an array of obstacles from ice baths to electric shocks. The track is 5-mile circuits with the objective being to do as many as you can within the 8 hour time limit.

My aim, along with my team, Not Fast but Fabulous, is 6 laps - or 30-miles. Not a single one of us has ever run more than a half marathon. I, myself, tore a ligament in my knee in January this year which stopped me from walking until mid-February.

Should we achieve 5 laps, we will qualify for the World's Toughest Mudder in October. Hopeful is probably more suited than confident, but we've been training hard and believe we can do it.

It's a fantastic cause and being a local charity, the donations really go a long way in making a difference.
