A huge thank you to everyone who donate. What a fantastic amount! This will help the Sylva Foundation not only plant and maintain the woodland - to which so many of you also contributed by helping to plan young trees - but also to carry on their work, especially in educating children about the importance and beauty of trees.

Dylan's funeral was yesterday, and about 150 people attended. Out heartfelt thanks to all who came, and all who were unable to be there but sent messages of support. I was about to write that the fund had passed the £2000 mark which would have been wonderful in itself, but as I was typing a message came in about the latest very substantial donation from his colleagues and friends at the university, do I must record a special thank you to them. A munificent tribute to our young man. Thank you.

Wow! Just a day after we launched this page, and the donations have already exceeded the amount needed to sponsor the woodland plot. Everything raised above that will be donated to the Sylva Foundation to support their work. We are greatly moved by the generosity of Dylans'' friends and even more so by the heart-warming comments about him.
