This summer I am volunteering at the Kasisi Children's Home in Luska, Zambia. The Kasisi orphanage aims to safeguard children in Africa from physical, sexual or emotional abuse, neglect and discrimination. However, it is not government funded, and so runs purely on the donations it receives. Before I visit I would like to help raise money to volunteer at the orphanage and help fund it. This includes various sponsored activities including a skydive this December and climbing up Mount Snowdon in June.

This charity is important to me not because I can relate personally, but because the charity deserves all the help it can get. I am blessed to be brought up in a safe and loving household, but unfortunately it is not the case for everyone. Michael. P. Watson said “Strong people don't put others down... They lift them up.” Together we are strong, and as decent human beings it is our right to help lift up others.
