Last year I had my baby at 23 weeks gestation, we spent our first Christmas as a family at the hospital by my baby's incubator.

For me I believe Christmas is a time where families come together to celebrate and be merry, but some families will be separated this Christmas as they will be in hospital with their babies who were born too early.

As a mother of a premature baby myself I know first hand how challenging it can be celebrating the festive period whilst anxiously waiting for your baby to come home. So this Christmas I aim to raise money to buy Christmas gifts for 21 premature babies and their parents who are currently being cared for in my local neonatal intensive care unit at Basildon Hospital, Essex.

Despite being told that there was nothing that could be done for my 23 weeks old premature baby due to the hospitals resources being for babies born at 27 weeks upwards; the team at Basildon Hospital did a great job to stabilise my little girl until she got to a specialist hospital.

I would love and appreciate your support in my venture to give back to the hospital and support those families during this season.
