My name is George Brown. I am the goalkeeper for Haxby Town under 12’s.

I recently followed the story of a young man named Bradley Lowery. Bradley was a Sunderland fan who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, when he was 18 months old. Bradley became the mascot for Sunderland Football Club and became "best mates" with his hero, striker Jermain Defoe. Sadly, in July Bradley passed away.

At this time treatment for this kind of cancer is not available in the UK.

Bradley’s story made me feel very sad and upset because his dream of becoming a footballer was cut short. It made me think that anyone who gets cancer should be able to get treatment in our country.

To raise funds I'm organising an under 12's football tournament which will take place on October 21st at Ethel ward playing feilds. Every penny we raise will go to The Bradley Lowery Foundation.
