Haldane Youth Services are a small, charity based in West Dunbartonshire. Their aim is to make a positive difference to the lives of the children and young people, aged 7 -12 years living within and immediately surrounding the Mill of Haldane. Many of these children have challenging home lives and the charity works tirelessly to:
· Provide opportunities for children to broaden their horizons and raise their aspirations
· Encourage confidence and self-esteem
· Enable the young people to have a voice within their local community
· Reward commitment, discipline and positive social interaction.

Haldane Youth Services are the chosen Charity of the Year for Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority. I work the National Park Authority and want to do my bit to help the great work that this local charity does. My challenge is to complete 'La Marmotte' - a gruelling bike ride that tackles many of the biggest and toughest passes in the French Alps. To succeed I'll have to cover 175 km and climb over 5000 metres on my bike in one day!
