Story
On 25th march Jonte James was born at 28weeks via emergency c section, as his mum suffered a placenta abruption. It was touch and go but luckily both survived. Jonte James was transferred to neonatal intensive care being 3 months premature, he didnt need ventilating but was on a cpap mask and everyday he was growing stronger and after a week he was on an opti flow mask, they had a few scares on the way. After 3 weeks on nicu unit he was transferred to to the hdu unit doing really well even bottle feeding and we all thought a few more weeks and he would be home, how things can change in the blink of an eye. On tues 1st may Jonte James was transferred back to nicu put on antibiotics as they were told he had a slight infection. On 2nd may they were told he had a condition called NEC which could be treated by antibiotics, by night they were told he was really poorly and would need an operation, Jonte James was taken to theatre for a 4-5hr operation. After an hour they were called back and told the devastating news that there was nothing they could do as his whole bowel and intestines were completely rotten he was also ventilated as he was on so much morphine. On thursday 3rd may Jonte James was transferred to ty hafan the local childrens hospice for end of life care. Jonte James was taken off the ventilator at 4:30pm and finally stopped fighting and grew his angel wings at 9:30pm the same night.
