Recently my beloved grandmother passed away. One thing that sticks firmly in my memory is her generosity of gifting water. In the holy month of Ramadan before heading to the mosque for taraweeh prayers she would fill several bottles of water and take them with her to share with the other worshippers. During the hot summer days when the same young boy working at the fish stall in the souk would knock on the doors of houses asking for water she would urge us to fill his buckets

In her lasting memory I wish to raise money to build a Deep Tube water well, organised by the charity Islamic Appeal. Millions of people living in the poorest areas of Asia and Africa have no source of clean water and often have to walk miles just to fill a bucket with dirty, contaminated water. A water well will change and save so many lives.
