Weʼre raising £500 to Fund Construction Materials, Medical Supplies, School Supplies and Food for Maasai Community in Kenya - East Africa

Nairobi, Kenya

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

I chose the Maasai as the community could truly benefit from what I have to offer using the experienced gained from my professional career, University and College studies along with my own upbringing in care. I am able to fully engage with the volunteer programme and contribute both my skills and knowledge . Thanks to the Aspirational Award from Life Changes Trust every single penny of the volunteer programme from materials to flights and accommodation has been funded, which is a great opportunity for me to solely focus on raising funds purely for the DofE Challenge and the Maasai community, who are in need of bore holes and assistance on completing and repairing the orphanage and shack. As well as raising funds for ongoing and new projects this money can also be used to purchase medication, school supplies and bedding (for orphanage) which is desperately needed. Which is truly amazing!!!

I will volunteer for 2 weeks (with the Maasai tribe in Southern Kenya – Africa) assisting with the construction of an orphanage and bore Holes as well as teaching children in schools and assisting the Maasai woman with basic day to day living such as travelling 2hours by foot to schools, collecting water and cooking meals.
