    Story

In 2016, Luke Ambler lost his brother-in-law Andy to the biggest single killer of men under 45. Suicide.

Nobody knew there was anything wrong, and there were no indications to any of the family that Andy was anything less than the perfectly happy family men all his friends thought him to be.

Unfortunately, Andy's story is not uncommon and this is why Luke decided to do something about it. He founded "Andy's Man Club" in honour of his friend and brother-in-law. Andy's Man Club is NOT a support group, but it is a group who support people. The aim of Andy's Man Club is to create a network of people who help each other and their communities, but most importantly provide a platform so that nobody ever needs to feel like they are alone, or that there is no solution for their problems. In many cases, this can just mean a friend to speak with in confidence - but whatever is needed, the group is there.

Starting with just one club in Halifax, Yorkshire, there are now over a dozen with plans to open many more. In 2017, the Man Club received support and endorsement from many celebrities but they need continued help to keep them going.

The club is supported entirely by volunteers and donations, so this year Magnitude Events have chosen them as the featured charity for their event "Scrappy's Little Sister". An offshoot of their well-known Scrappage Rally, the event is a three day trip to the Isle of Skye in cheap cars. There, a day of activities and fun will be the reward for over a thousand miles of driving in clapped-out old cars.

The issues Andy's Man Club raise are close to the hearts of Scrappage's organisers, so we are happy to be working with AMC on this adventure. You can use this page to donate money which will go directly to the club, and help support them to expand their network and reach even more vulnerable young men.

The rally is now over and we can't believe how well we did! So many kind and generous people. A video will be made soon showing what we got up to and hopefully we can reach that target we are after!

Having a best friend who, in the past, dealt with lonliness and severe isolation (to the point of seeing a therapist) has given me the utmost respect for Andy's Man Club and the work it does.
