Weʼre raising £8,000 to help fund the Salt Cellar Youth Project

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Salt Cellar Youth Project provides school activities and a town centre venue for after school activities and evening groups, in Oldham, the most deprived town in the UK.

We are a Christian project which aims to reach and empower young people to make a positive difference in their communities, through encouragement and the love of Christ. Although Christian values drive everything we do, we welcome people of all faiths, backgrounds and beliefs.

The work we undertake includes assemblies, Religious Study lessons, lunch clubs and Christian Unions in local schools; an after-school drop-in cafe; and evening groups full of games, activities, and discussion around faith and life issues.

Over the years our project has positively influenced many young people by improving their confidence, attitudes and general well-being. We have also seen many young people come to faith through our project, some of whom became members of our team before moving on to become positive influences elsewhere.

Unfortunately, funding has reduced significantly and we are facing potential closure. Without further funding and donations, this will be our final year.
