One Day Like This Fundraising Performance

The Somerset County Youth Orchestra, Somerset County Concert Band and Somerset County Youth Choirs, are amazing opportunities for children and young adults to be involved in music making at a high level.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Somerset County Youth music groups have not been able to meet face to face since March (for some it was at the Christmas concert that they last got together) .. they have missed courses, been unable to perform concerts, and to travel abroad as planned.

Although part funded by the local music Hub via funds from Arts Council England, the groups are funded by parental contributions and proceeds from concerts. This cannot happen at the moment!

It would be amazing to raise enough funds to go towards costs of subscriptions for all members, and keep the groups going until they can all play together again.

This video has been able to virtually re-unite nearly one hundred members of the Choirs, Orchestra and Concert Band from over thirty schools and colleges across Somerset and fourteen universities across the UK. It was a huge team effort, and an exciting project in a year with so little music making. If you can help support these groups please consider a donation... and share to as many people as you can!!
