I am attempting to run Brighton full marathon on Sunday 9th April ...this will be my first full marathon after completing Worthing half ...with the encouragent and support of my friend Neil who I shall be attempting to run with and various members of my local fitclub I made the final decision to run with just a few days to spare..I am not aiming to pull of some record breaking time just hoping to complete the circuit...I have been injured and unfortunately have not done all the training I had hoped to do.I am strong and for those of you who know me well have an abundance of determination.
I shall be running in loving memory of my sister who died aged just 33 years old who I can now say died of HIV and AIDS related illness ,because the story is not straightforward that is as much as I can say at this stage.Charlotte had learning difficulties too which makes the story that much more heartbreaking..I have wanted to honour her memory in a way which reflects her battle and makes some sense of the strength and courage she showed nearing to the end of her physical life.
My vision is to start a charity that educates people into HIV awareness ,to go into schools and communities,help to fight stigma and also to support vulnerable adults and children with day to day living and gives them an opportunity to have a voice..so this is my starting point to form a charity and hopefully one day have a drop in place that feels like home and with hope that no other person ever feels alone ...I have many ideas and great vision ..as you will know every journey starts with the first step...thanks for taking the time to read this ...one ❤
