As you may know Steve passed away suddenly last year leaving behind his 3 young children. I am taking on the coast to coast challenge in his memory and to raise some funds for his childrens future.
Steve has been a good friend of mine since school and a fantastic father and husband to his family.
It would mean a lot to me to fundraise for such a great family and lovely children.
I am taking on the iconic coast to coast in day it is a 150 mile journey stretching from seascale to Whitby the route covers the lake district and Yorkshire dales there is an obscene 4500m of climbing required.
I have always been a keen cyclist but favoured mountain biking anyone who knows me will agree that I don't have the normal road cycling physique.
Since signing up to the challenge end of last year I have taken on the challenge head on, with many a sweaty turbo trainer session and cold wet winter rides. To date the farthest training ride was 100 mile ride with just over 2000m of climbing and it ruined me. So this really is going to be a challenge for me but one that i will complete.

I worked with Steve at Williams F1, Caterham, Stratum Composites and Renaultsport. He was great to work with, a good friend and more importantly someone you could trust.

That was an amazing thing to do Dan. Well done for seeing the ride through & for such a good cause. Now you’ve got some miles under your belt, you’ll have to get out more on the roadie..!
