I am creating a just giving page to help fundraise in memory of Katie Scannell for FFC 2020, and this is her story:

Katie scannell, born at St Mary’s hospital on 4th February 2003.

Katie was a bright and enthusiastic girl, who always had a smile on her face and would never fail of putting a smile on someone else’s. Katie loved to dance, and she was an amazing gymnast from such a young age before perusing her dancing career with Dexi’s Dance Academy. She had so many friends and absolutely adored her family, having a wonderful relationship with her brother, Harry. Make up was also a big part of Katie’s life, like any young lady, especially during her cancer, losing her hair, eyebrows and lashes was a massive deal for a young girl but she a had such a beautiful face which lit up any room. Lastly, Katie absolutely loved a get away holiday with her family and friends, being in the sun is what Katie enjoyed the most.

14 year old Katie spent 12 months battling a rare form of cancer before losing her battle in January 2018. Katie endured 9 rounds of chemotherapy followed by 6 weeks of radiotherapy. Everything was going well due to Katie remaining strong and positive. In December 2017 out of the blue Katie had a seizure and her parents were told by doctors the cancer had spread to her brain and there was nothing they could do. Katie spent the last 7 weeks of her life at home believing she was going to get better before losing her battle to this awful disease.

Heaven gained a gracious and beautiful young lady in January of 2018. One in a million ❤️
