We have fundraised to build a new memorial for Staffordshire Regimental family. The state will also include the names of North Staffordshire, South Staffordshire and 3 Mercian soldiers lost while on duty for Queen and Country.

The statue is on a black marble base, surrounded with engraved bricks and topped off with a life size bronze statue of C/Sgt Watchman V.

The statue has been made, the base is being built and the named memorial bricks delivered. But as always with these projects, something comes along and we have had a few extra bills than expected, and in the course of research, we need another couple of bricks as new soldiers from the North Staffordshire and South Staffordshire Regiments that have been identified.

A local charity, Community Together CIC, has used their reserved to fill in the shortfall so the last of the invoices has been paid. So we are fundraising to reimburse them and also order two more engraved bricks.

Any excess raised will go towards the cost of the unveiling event and the creation creation of a reserve for future maintenance.
