I know Michael Pringle for years and he became a close friend in the minute I met him first. And so did his family. When I received the phone call last June about his three-year old son being struck by a car in an accident I was devastated – like everybody that knew Clinton Pringle. And after the brave fight for life that Clinton sadly lost it was clear that I would be going to his funeral to give him this last good bye and be at the side of his parents, Stacey and Michael.
Michael asked not to come in tie and suit but just as Clinton would have known everybody. So I knew I would have to come by motorbike – the last time Clinton and I met I was at the Fanladen St. Pauli with my motorbike. Unfortunately I was hit by a car myself just five days before the funeral and thus I wasn´t able to go on two wheels… But I was certain about repeating the travel as soon as possible.
And that is now!
I will start on Thursday, June 1st and ride down to the Europoort in Rotterdam. On the next day I will drive from Hull up to Glasgow and say hello to Michael and Stacey. And Clinton.
And I would like this ride to be a little more than just another visit to my friends or a short holiday for me. I would like to raise money for the Clinton Pringle Project and as it will be approximately 1041 KM on the road from door to door, exactly that is my aim to raise.

The Clinton Pringle Project is being set up as a Scottish Incorporated Charity Organisation. The main aim of the project is to help families devastated by the sudden loss of a healthy child by providing useful installations or structures which will not only act as a memorial to their loved one but be beneficial to people in their own community. For example, these could be community gardens or outdoor play apparatus for children.
