I am running the Bournemouth half marathon in October to raise money for the neo-natal unit at Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton. My beautiful youngest nephew Noah was born there this March, and the team did all they could to give him his best chance, despite being born early and with a heart condition. Despite their best efforts, Noah sadly passed away after giving all he could, and my brother and sister in law couldn't have had a better team of doctors, nurses and all the other staff on the unit surrounding them every step of the way, from Noah's early arrival to the sad goodbyes that followed.

With NHS cuts and under staffing, it's units like this that deserve the extra help to ensure all babies born early or sick get the attention they deserve, and the support for the families surrounding them at this time is invaluable.
