Brixham Rugby Club has youth teams in all age groups from under 7's right through to under 16's and prides itself on its friendly atmosphere which brings enjoyment to all players and a great social side for parents.

This season, I have been proud to play a small part in helping to coach the under 9's, and have seen the tireless work that goes on to provide a safe and fun environment for all of the youth players to develop a whole range of skills and forge new friendships.

As we look ahead to the 2018/19 season, the entire youth section would benefit from some new training kit. This could be waterproof sub suits, rain or sun shelters for youth tournaments, water bottles, new rugby balls, tackle pads etc - the list goes on.

To fundraise for some of this much needed equipment, I've set myself the challenge of completing the 26.2 mile Exeter marathon on the 20th May 2018.

Having only started long distance running in January 2017, this will be my 2nd marathon and very much a challenge - especially considering the state my body is in right now :)

That said, the youth teams of Brixham Rugby are a fantastic group of boys and girls, who give their all in every training session and every game, proud to represent their club, and are well worth the effort.
