On 22nd September 2017 our Father (Gurdial Singh Lalli) sadly passed away. He had for many years supported the Pingalwara Charitable Society Amritsar (India).

Pingalwara Charitable Society was established in 1957 by Bhagat Puran Singh, to provide care and support to those that had been rejected by society and in particular the homeless, the disabled, and the mentally ill.

It was founded on the principle that a nation's strength is not determined by its material wealth but by looking at how it treats its weakest citizens.

It was while visiting India in 1978, that Dad visited an orphanage established by the Society in Amritsar. Having seen the incredible work undertaken by the Society he had sought to support it as generously as he could and had encouraged his family and friends to do so as well.

Today the Society runs a number of Centres in India helping care for disabled children and adults, sufferers of HIV, mentally ill patients and the destitute. It is funded entirely by charitable donations.
