    Story

This photo of my brother David Keswick and his eldest son Ace was taken the day before he went into hospital. Within one week David became bedridden and in a coma and was having seizures. David was diagnosed with a very rare illness called Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease which meant he had a life expectancy of about 6 months. He declined very quickly and only survived for 8 weeks after going in hospital. He was unable to be with his wife Irish when she gave birth to their baby boy Axel on 19 October 2021 by caesarian section. Irish is filipino and has Leave to Remain in the UK but does not have Indefinite Leave to Remain. This means that Irish is not entitled to claim any government benefits for herself or her 2 boys who were both born in the UK. Irish worked full time in a laundry doing 12 hour night shifts and paid income tax and National Insurance. Now her husband has died she has no way to look after the children and pay for rent, council tax, food and clothes until she can get Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK which she can apply for now that David has died. The cost of this Indefinite Leave to Remain is almost £2,500 but how can she raise this kind of money herself. My husband and I only get state retirement pension now but we are doing our best for Irish and the children. Please, please donate whatever you can afford even if it is only £1 to help give Irish and her boys a fresh start after this devastating event in their lives. These 2 beautiful little boys will never know how wonderful their Daddy was and Irish has been left without her loving husband.

Hello Everyone Many thanks for supporting Ace, Axel and Irish and for your kind donations which have been very much appreciated. We have had some good news and Irish has had confirmation that she has been granted her Indefinite Leave to Remain. Once she receives her ILR card she will be able to claim government benefits so this page will be closing down from Friday 21st January 2022.
