On the 4th January 2022 our beautiful, courageous and inspirational Mum, Nanna and best friend, Teresa, lost her battle with cancer. She was 58 years old. Despite having previously recovered from breast cancer she was diagnosed 6.5 years ago with terminal ovarian cancer and given a less than 5% chance of making it past 5 years. They obviously didn't know Teresa! She battled this horrible disease with dignity and determination facing treatment after treatment whilst also living her life to the full.

One of the things she always struggled with at hospital was the injections! She was needle phobic and to make matters worse the nurses found it difficult to locate a vein, often having to make many attempts. It was alot of prodding and poking and it would make her really upset and anxious. She would be better if we could go in with her but due to covid she had to gave it on her on her own. This would cause her huge distress on top of the already challenging circumstances.

At her final hospital appointment in December, when the doctors told her the chemo was no longer working and they were going to stop treatment, she spotted this poster in the waiting room.

After the shock of hearing the devastating news, she was back thinking of others. She said to her daughter, Sophie, that if she could control and manage the pain she was determined to start fundraising for the vein finder. Unfortunately she never had the chance.

If we could now raise enough money to buy a vein finder in her name we know she would be so happy.
