    Story

    Tremendous! The Nick Huntley Project

On Sunday 4th October 2020 the family and friends of Nick Huntley will be marking the 5th anniversary of his untimely death with a charity Memory Walk in Tollymore Forest Park in Newcastle. Lots of you will have also lost a loved one in recent years, so if you'd like to join us you'd be warmly welcomed.

Nick struggled with mental health and addiction issues which ultimately led to his passing aged just 29. Like countless others dealing with bereavement, not a day goes past when he doesn't enter our thoughts.

In an effort to help others struggling with their mental health, we have set up this Just Giving page to support the incredible work of two local charities - Aware and Mind Your Mate, Mind Yourself.

If you are able, please help us raise funds for these two groups and the increasingly vital work that they do in our local communities.

Thank-you so much for your generous donations. We are delighted to have reached the £2000 mark two weeks before the Memory Walk on Sunday 4th October between 11am and 3 pm at Tollymore Forest Park. We would love to be able to give as large a sum as possible to Aware and MYMY, as the support they are able to offer to those in need is acutely needed at the moment, so please share. We will also be collecting donations on the day for those who prefer to support with cash. Just look for the project banner in the back car park in Tollymore. XXX

We will have a stand in the back car park of Tollymore Forest Park. Walkers are invited to collect a map of the trails from us between 11am and 3pm before heading off on their memory walk. If you can't join us on the day - or the weather is very bad, please take time to undertake your memory walk at a later date in a suitable location. This Just Giving page will remain open for donations for 10 days after the event, after which time the raised funds will be divided equally and presented on your behalf to the two charities.
