    Story

I am running the Reading Half Marathon to raise money for kids football. I have never run this far before, but training is going well. Whiteknights Football Club is a great community club in East Reading. We have no home ground, no clubhouse, but people know what we stand for. Whiteknights povides a great opportunity for children from every background to play sport, regardless of ability. Please help me raise money for children's football in Reading. All money raised goes straight into the Whiteknights bank account.

    Thank you!

One month after the cancelled Reading half marathon, I finally completed my half marathon, running the Putney and Fulham half in 2 hours 12 minutes. Thanks for all your support. Everything hurts!

Disappointingly, the Reading half marathon has been cancelled this morning due to the weather. I will look for another half marathon locally or failing that just run the Reading course on my own once the weather improves. Obviously very happy to return any donations - just let me know. In the meantime, I'll need to keep up the training!!! Thanks for your support. Alex

Thanks to everyone who has posted supportive messages or contributed. If you are in Reading next Sunday and have a few hours to spare, I'll see you on the course.

I am one of the volunteer parent coaches at Whiteknights Football Club. We have a great group of 10 and 11 year olds in our three Under 11 teams, who all just love playing the game, whatever the weather
