Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the "better at running up a tab" JustGiving page.

The GCTO Change team with special guest David Jones from IT Strategy and Architecture have decided, in the spirit of charity, to take part in this year's Jog LEJOG (Land's End to John O'Groats) an epic relay run of 1,500km. We will be running a stage of the relay covering 95km from Callender to Altnafeadh.

The team is made up of 1 runner and 8 novelists at best (some not having run in 20 years, others not exercising in 5 years and one recovering from a broken foot). After looking at the initial estimates from everyone on how long this trek would take us, and that tally equaling more than the hours of day light, the team is now on a rigorous training scheduled, to make sure we can all make it to the finish line while its still light on the 11th June.

With 2 weeks to go, the team is already spending a considerable amount on ankle and knee supports, we are hopeful that we will all make it through in one piece.

The team consists of Mark Stapley, Danny Heakin, Andrew Buxton, David Jones, Paul Shrimpton, Derek Fitzsimons, Sukh Cheema, Ian Sargent and Kate Pilcher, who will each be taking on at least 10km throughout the day.

Please sponsor generously, and make all the training (pain) we're doing worth while for the brilliant St Giles Trust, a charity helping people facing severe disadvantage to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. They help them to become positive contributors to local communities and wider society.
