Story
With the tremendous success of last years Cyclability Challenge which raised over £7000 for charity - Motability & Cancer Research - we felt we just had to try to do it again! This year we are aiming for £8,000!
We'll be raising funds for three deserving charities - Motability, Cancer Research and The British Heart Foundation - and to match last year, we've come up with an equally daunting challenge - a four day, 320 mile, cycling marathon from Edinburgh to Liverpool through the Pennines!
The terrain this year will be our biggest hurdle as, although the daily distances are only 80 miles, we'll be tackling some of the most demanding cycling routes in Britain!
Last year we managed to start the ride on the first day of the 'June floods'. We are hoping that this year we will have a much drier journey. We are starting from Edinburgh Castle on 7th July and arriving in Liverpool on the afternoon of the 10th when a reception event is planned.
We are planning a 'fun day ' of related activity in our RSA Liverpool offices to kick-start our fund-raising and Motability Operations will also be holding events.
Who's Crazy enough to take on a challenge like this?
Andrew McKellar (RSAM), Andrew Creedon (RSAM), Mark Wheeler (Motability Operations), Matt Miller (Motability Operations), Owain Reed (Motability Operations), Dave Young (DWF Solicitors), Nigel Dogget (AutoGlass), Will Thompson (Insurance Insights Consultancy) and Mark Jackson (RSAM). We will also have a number of guests who will be joining us for parts of the ride.
