Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 25th April I took up the challenge of running the Virgin London Marathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support for in memory of my mother-in law, Jean who passed away in the summer of 2008. I saw first hand how wonderful the Macmillan Nurses are and I hope to raise money in order that this organisation can continue with their fantastic work. I also see running 26.2 miles as a fitting way to remember the courage and strength shown by Jean when fighting this dreadful disease
WOW!! What a challenge it was. The Virgin London Marathon is an unbelievable occassion that takes you on a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish. The support I had from my family, Team Macmillan and the thousands of spectators and volunteers lining the route was incredible. The last 6 miles really hurt (and I mean really hurt) and it was this support that pulled me through to finish in a time of 2 hours 37 minutes.
Although my aches and pains are fading it is still not to late to make a donation to Macmillan.
