I really don't know what I was thinking when I signed myself up for this.  Probably a bit of over confidence having managed to complete a couple of 10k races, combined with a sense of optimism rarely seen from me, and unlikely to be repeated.

Anyway, here I am about to do the Great North Run so I decided I may as well make it worthwhile by raising some money for charity.  The charity I have chosen is Iain Rennie Hospice At Home who services I have been (un)fortunate enough to have used when my father was suffering from cancer. 

This amazing group of people offer families the opportunity to have their loved ones remain at home during their illness rather than them being taken to a hospital or hospice.  And they do all of this for no charge and with no government funding.  So please use this site to sponsor me and raise some much needed funds for this wonderful organisation who have made such a huge difference to so many people's lives.
