It soon became clear...

- the only new musical offer I got was to join the tribute band "Take Fat"

- the Talking Scales said "one at a time please"

- my favourite trousers were elasticated

 

In an attempt to reverse the trend, I've started to get fit and, in particular, get on my bike.  So I'm doing 28 miles around the New Forest in September.  OK- it's not the Tour de France, but, cut me some slack - I've got to start somewhere.  I am going to try to do it relatively quickly and I am training for it - so it's not a leisure ride ..honest...

Orchid is the charity I'm supporting.  They focus on conditions such as prostate cancer, which is very relevant, given how close that is to home in the Walker family.  In fact, by doing this, I'm hoping I can get around the golf course with my Dad and his friends without having to hear prostate war stories from them that no man should have to hear before a three foot putt...
