The Welsh 3000s · 4 September 2015
Hi everyone. My good friend Darragh and I, like everyone right now are deeply upset by the refugee crisis that is effecting thousands of people across Northern Africa, Syria and into Europe.
To raise money to help the aid effort, we're challenging ourselves to a journey of our own that although is extreme and punishing, is nothing compared to the journey thousands of refugees are making every day to escape conflict. We will be taking on the Welsh 3000s challenge - climbing all 15 Welsh mountains over 3000ft in under 48 hours, starting with Snowdon (Yr Wydffa) and finishing with Foel Fras in the Carneddau - a total ascent of over 9787ft.
More information on the challenge can be found here: http://welsh3000s.co.uk
We will also be auctioning limited edition photographic prints of the Snowdonian mountains taken during the trek, with all proceeds donated directly to Oxfam GB to help the crisis. Details of this will be available on our blogs shortly after the challenge.
By helping us raise £3000 or more you will be directly helping the thousands of people who need our help today. This crisis will not disappear and it is already the tragedy of the decade. We've seen the images of children washed up on beaches, and hundreds of families dying while attempting to flee war torn countries. These are desperate people who need our help.
Thank you.
