Christians @ 20 Canada Square Haiti Earthquake Appeal and Sponsored Gospel

We are a group of Christians working in BP's 20 Canada Square office.  We meet on Fridays to pray and study scripture together.  On Friday 15th January 2010 we prayed particularly for the earthquake disaster currently affecting Haiti.  Having prayed, we discussed if there was anything else we could do for those people affected by this disaster.  We decided to set up an appeal for funds via the Disasters Emergency Committee, a group of charities who are actively involved in relief in Haiti.

We ask you to give some of your own resources from your situation of plenty to help those in Haiti in their hour of need.  This country is the poorest in the western hemisphere and has been badly affected by natural disasters in the past few years.  Everything you donate will be matched by an equal donation from the BP Foundation (this applies whether you work for BP or not).

As an additional incentive for you to give, Dave Brown is undertaking a sponsored Gospel reading.  He will read aloud the whole of John's Gospel non-stop from start to finish.  This takes place at St Peter's Barge in Canary Wharf on Thursday 4th February at 18:00.
