Story

Thank you for visiting my online fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me as every little bit you can offer will really make a difference.

Having run a few half-marathons already I decided that the only way I could get people to part with their hard-earned money was to "up the anti". I've always thought about competing in the London Marathon ever since I watched it on TV as a child. So now's the time to put those thoughts into serious actions, even if it does mean eating a few less pies and curries, drinking a lot less alcohol and having a lot more early nights.

Choosing to run for GOSHCC was simple to me. It's an organisation very close to my family as they have already provided world-class specialist care for my first niece Sammie, up until she passed away at 13 months old, and now for my 1-year-old nephew Edison who we all still have every hope for. If other children and families can also benefit from such care, then a few aching muscles and a little bit of sweat will make it all seem so worthwhile.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now and help me through my training on those cold and damp winter days!

Many thanks for your support,

David.
